USPIE’s June Millstone Award goes to Oakland school official for misusing federal funds to corrupt children with LGBTQ+ indoctrination
A California school district took federal funds from a disease prevention grant and funneled them into student LGBTQ+ clubs focused on gender ideology and queer activism, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
United States Parents Involved in Education’s June Millstone Award, therefore, goes to Oakland Unified School District Board President and District 2 Director Jennifer Brouhard for allowing her district to pipe taxpayer cash into clandestine clubs, turning kids into LGBTQ+ activists.
USPIE gives a monthly Millstone Award to “the person involved in government schools who has committed the most egregious acts against children. These individuals have taken steps to funnel wokeness and other harmful pedagogies into America’s classrooms.”
The Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) Network — which backs over 4,000 LGBTQ+ student groups in the U.S. — uses the clubs to engage kids on topics such as transgenderism, sexuality and queer activism, all while leaving parents in the dark, the Daily Caller’s documents show.
“The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) burned nearly $60,000 in HIV prevention grant funds from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the GSA clubs,” the report said.
This story clearly demonstrates how federal money is negatively impacting our children, even when it does not come from the Department of Education. This grant is from the CDC. The conclusion should be that ALL federal funding to schools must stop, and parents must be on guard to protect their children from school policies like this.
The CDC grant funds Healthy Oakland Teens, a school-based program with the stated goal of reducing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections among middle and high school students.
The district’s 2018 grant application revealed that it used part of the Healthy Oakland Teens funding to pay “LGBTQ+ Liaisons” to oversee middle and high school GSA clubs and help create a school climate that “affirms” LGBTQ+ students. An additional $50,000 grant funded school staff to run similar LGBTQ+ programs for elementary school pupils, the Daily Caller reported.
From 2018 to 2023, the district received more than $3 million as part of the Healthy Oakland Teens grant from the CDC.
A “gender support plan” outlines how staff can “support” a student’s new gender identity by socially transitioning them to another sex at school without notifying their parents.
This story aligns with the mission behind USPIE to return education to its proper local roots and restore parental authority over their children’s education by helping parents and local communities escape federal and other national influences. Get your kid out before some school employee ruins his or her life!
