Superintendent gets USPIE’s Millstone Award for preying on children’s innocence without parental notice

The Roaring Forks School District in Colorado is subjecting young children to shockingly graphic sex education material without even giving parents adequate notice to opt out.
For this intense attack on children’s innocence and parental rights, United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) has given its September Millstone of the Month Award to Roaring Forks Superintendent Anna Cole.
USPIE’s Millstone Award is given monthly to the person involved in government schools who has committed the most egregious acts against children.
Roaring Forks recently adopted the “3 Rs Understanding Our Bodies” curriculum designed by Advocates for Youth, a group that promotes abortion, LGBTQ activism and “bodily autonomy.” The program is used in more than 500 school districts, according to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).
ADF has sent Roaring Forks a letter, arguing that the school’s insufficient notice left parents in the dark and, in some cases, prevented them from being able to opt their kids out of its sex-education curriculum.
Parents have a clear legal right to be notified in advance of sex ed classes being offered, yet the district has repeatedly failed to do so.
The law stands on the side of parents, yet the schools act in bad faith. This is not an accident, though some may claim it is. From defending pornographic books in libraries to instituting age-inappropriate sex ed curriculum without parental notice, schools are intentionally undermining parental rights and hurting children at the same time.
One of the most outspoken voices in the Roaring Forks opposition is a third-generation Carbondale native whose son attends kindergarten in the district. Tanner Gianinetti has appeared at four school board meetings to protest the lessons and the way the district has failed to notify parents of the explicit material. In a YouTube video, he details problems with the “3Rs Understanding Our Bodies” curriculum, which is so inappropriate for children that he found it “extremely surreal.”
“This is not age-appropriate anatomy,” he said of the program’s drawn images, which include close-up views of sexual organs. “This is politically charged rhetoric, and to be clear, this is grooming.”
Mr. Gianinetti is right. God bless him for speaking out. Parents must reclaim their authority and take their kids out of government schools. These schools cannot be trusted.
