Trans Minnesota lawmaker gets March Millstone for pushing porn on kids for ‘educational’ purposes
Citizens must be aware of this destructive worldview held by many elected officials, and vote with that in mind
Democratic Minnesota state Rep. Leigh Finke has been named as the recipient of United States Parents Involved in Education’s (USPIE) March Millstone of the Month Award.
Finke said that pornography could be “educational” for “queer” children, making the remarks in opposition to a proposed state law.
Finke, a biological male who identifies as a transgender woman, claimed current sex education was not being provided for LGBTQ+ youth, as if pornography offers anything remotely defined as appropriate sex education for children.
The Millstone of the Month award is given to the person involved in government schools who has committed the most egregious acts against children. These individuals have taken steps to funnel wokeness and other harmful pedagogies into America’s classrooms.
Finke claimed during a Feb. 19 hearing that restricting minors’ access to pornographic websites constitutes a denial of rights to LGBTQ+ youth.
HF 1434 would require age verification for sites deemed “harmful to minors,” with sites failing to do so being subject to civil action from the state attorney general and private citizens. Finke claimed that current sex education curricula were not being provided for “queer” youth.
“The AGs in many states … are very clear … that they’re almost jubilant about being able to use these laws to ban young people from accessing content that could be educational if they are queer,” Finke said during the hearing, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation report in The Daily Signal.
“[Knowing there are] LGBT students in your school, and we … know that they’re not receiving sex education for queer kids. We know that. Prurient interest could be for many people the very existence of transgender kids. More and more people are saying there simply are no transgender kids.”
Citizens must be aware of this destructive worldview held by many elected officials, and vote with that in mind. In the meantime, parents, be advised that the internet — and government schools — are dangerous for children.
