43% of young adults express positive view of Sharia law ahead of midterms

Government schools are too busy pushing woke doctrines and are failing to teach kids why America is unique, free and prosperous

A new survey reveals that American young people are expressing positive views toward Islamic Sharia law at higher rates than ever as the midterm elections approach in less than eight days, The Washington Stand reported.

Earlier this month, Rasmussen Reports published a survey that found a full 43% of voters aged 18-24 saying they have positive views of Sharia law. The poll also found that 27% of voters under 30 said they would support a community adopting Sharia law.

They have no idea what they are supporting. Sharia is fundamentally incompatible with the God-given rights protected under the U.S. Constitution. But government schools are too busy pushing woke doctrines and are failing to teach kids why America is unique, free and prosperous.

Sadly, our government education system has failed to teach our children how to read, write, do math and think critically. It now appears our college-age students, who can vote, are not looking critically at a very important issue: the impact of adopting Sharia Law in the U.S. and what it would mean for our way of life.

If you are immersed in cultural and moral relativism, it’s difficult to make important distinctions, such as between our free republic and a totalitarian ideology like Sharia that subjugates women and persecutes other religions when it achieves majority rule.

In an Oct. 13 Washington Watch podcast, columnist and author Larry Taunton said, “Sharia does not accept… freedom of religion, assembly, press, petition, speech — none of what is in the Bill of Rights. They do not accept our view of women. They do not accept our views regarding freedom.”

There are welcome signs that Americans are starting to push back. In Texas, citizens at a 14-hour state school board meeting in April spoke against including Islam as part of any Texas social studies curriculum.

President Trump has called for a nationwide ban on Sharia law. He told political commentator Glenn Beck that he would “absolutely prohibit Sharia Law,” arguing that the United States should operate under only one legal system.

Critiquing the impact of Sharia Law on the U.S. is not discriminating; it is discerning. We must all seek to engage with young people to help them understand.
